Okay, first step is to install the CD-Rom
drive and the Floppy drive in the front panel.
This case has removable drive bays and slide rails that make installation a snap! |
|
Next is the Hard Drive, just 4 screws and it's in!
Finished with the installation of the drives, now for the hard stuff on the inside!
Next I installed the Processor and the Heatsink onto the Motherboard, then I carefully slipped the Motherboard into the case.
Check out this cool Video card!
The NVIDIA CPU with it's own fan, runs at
175Mhz
It has 64Mb of 400Mhz DDR Video Ram on board with heatsinks too. This card screams! |

Here is a shot with the drive bays
re-installed, everything else in place and the wiring completed!
I'm just about ready to light this thing up and see if I can get everything to work!. |

Well, this all started when I downloaded a demo for a game that wouldn't run on our home system. Begging for an upgrade met with strong resistance, so I decided to save up for my own high end gaming computer! I needed about $1,000 so I saved everything, money from lawn mowing, birthday, shoveling snow and Christmas - everything! Finally I was ready to order a Dell, but found I was about $300 short for a nice machine from Dell... Maybe another loan for the balance... ahh!!! I want that computer bad!, but it's months 'till summer, a year 'till Christmas, and 10 months until my B'day, and it's not snowing!! It could be a long wait!! My latest issue of "PC Gamer" magazine has several reviews of some of the fastest high end gaming PC's around. These systems cost about $3,500. WOW! - but nice to dream about. So on a whim, I looked at buying just the "nessessary" high end components and assembling my own machine, and thrift on the things that are just for looks, except for the cool looking black server case! I scoured the reviews for the hottest stuff out there, I found a Motherboard, RAM, and Video card that the cool systems use. I found the hottest stuff my budget would allow, ordered it and waited, and waited. Finally! All of the parts are here, assembly was fairly easy and it works too! Watch for me online! |
