Greetings and salutations all around. Another year older, but sadly another year uglier.Official deer camp buck pole is erected.

Denny tries bow hunting from Kent's blind and has big 8 point show up about 15 feet away but could not get off a shot.

Saturday 11/14
Today is official scouting and wood chopping day. Paul does his part to improve the fish habitat in the lake by dropping the first tree into the lake almost as planned. (it was)

Denny tries bow hunting from Kent's blind and has big 8 point show up about 15 feet away but could not get off a shot.

Remember "if your going to train the dog, you have to be smarter than the dog".

Sunday 11/15
Opening Day. 34° , no snow.

John got spike(on ridge) that ran into the swamp and tried to swim for it before expiring (te deer that is) making it necessary for John to go wading to retrieve it.

Jim scored a big doe from the opulent luxury of the chicken coop.

'Cookie' John was the first one down again (ref Deer Camp 96), but woke up to eat and bad mouth everyone.

Monday 11/16
29° and 4 inches of wet snow changing to rain later in the day. Wet conditions for sure.

Tom shoots 4 point (eventual buck pool winner) at finger off of swamp from the Hunt-N-Hut.

Mark wings doe at apple tree. 62 man hours spent chasing doe that would not die. Much of Kent's property seen for the first time.

Tuesday 11/17
32° and still very wet.

Still hunting are John, Denny, Paul, Todd and Tom.

Another year and Denny still goes home empty handed. (well.. just no deer) Sat in Kent's blind and watched as the new neighbor shoots a 5 point coming off of the hunt club towards the end of the fence.

See ya next year!
