Now that we have some land up north, we
need a tractor. September of '01' we found one. Here is our new (old) tractor! This old girl is still running strong. The engine serial number is from 1944, but from we can tell, the frame components might be from an earlier year. |
|
The right brakes are a little weak, the axle has an oil leak, what axle seals? The PTO leaks again, but she's a good ole' girl.
Okay it's not that bad, but she might need a clutch soon? We took her up north to use around the house and barn.
In October of 2002, the clutch finally got real bad. After we finished pushing the sand around in the barn , we loaded her up and took her south again.
A few bolts where all it took to crack the tractor in half
I set both halves on jacks, the clutch is in the middle, easy to get at.
While we had her home, we did the left side brakes too. We found a broken shifter support, we brazed this back together, now she shifts like never before!
Back together and ready to work!
