It's Time to Harvest Our Trees

Saturday January 29th, 2005 Carol and I took a day trip to see the logging operation.
This is the East field (looking south) after the cut.
The forester Wes, emailed me that they where starting the cut on Tuesday. I figured a few weeks to cut everything. When we got there, we saw piles of downed trees waiting to be stripped of branches.
More piles of trees.
This isn't scrap, its piles of 8 to 12 trees everywhere! They expect over 300 cord of wood out of this cut!
Here is a few big piles in front of Mike's first tree house. It's really out in the open now!
We spotted the logging equipment and pile of logs ready for loading.
We moved in for a closer look.
That's a huge pile! Carol and my mom check it out.
My dad an I head over to look at the equipment used for the harvest.
On the way home, we stopped at the sawmill where the logs will end up.
Now that's a real pile of logs!!
