March 31st: Our first trip up, and the ice is gone! Wow, look at all of the water! |
The cutterhead is under water! I could walk around the front when we parked it last year.
I think the level is even higher than it was in 2004 |
Even our dock has water under it. The first time in several years.
We even have water on the north side of the lake. I can't wait to get started! |
May 26th Memorial Day.
We hauled a few 5 gallon jugs of diesel to the dredge. While we were there, we got Helga moved back to the basin, and Dumpy running again. His choke was stuck on. |
On the way up, we stopped an bought a NEW tiller.
June 22nd.
We finally got things set up enough to dredge. Today we're going to tackle the area near the beaver lodge. We removed the bulk of the lodge back in 2005 |
The weekend from Hell!
We ran into a ton of logs. We spent most of the morning unclogging the pump and cutter head. Finally we just shut the pump down and used the cutter to lift the logs to the surface. What a pile! Thanks Pops! |
August 25th: We back at it again.
High fuel prices have kept us at home quite a bit. |
This is the last picture on my truck before it was stolen. Along with the truck was everything in it. That pretty much stopped all work at the lake, along with the rest of my projects too! We pulled the dredge in early October, right after I got my new "new truck", but we still didn't have a camera yet. |
We did recover this little kitty. She was a little over 3 pounds here. She was living under my dozer on the shore of the lake. I just couldn't leaver her there to die, so we now have 3 cats! She has blue eyes, so her name is Frankie after Ole' Blue Eyes. Now Frankie is over 9 pounds and loves to flop in my lap with Codi |
