April 12th: Our first trip up, and the ice is almost gone! The water looks good!
The price of diesel shot through the roof! We only have until winter on this permit. |
|
Wow, June already, and fuel is up even higher! I think we're going to sit this one out.
Too bad we're still on shore. (150 gallons of diesel is over $700 delivered) |
|
July: We finally pushed her into the water
We're rowing the fuel out in 5 gallon jugs. About 20 gallons a day |
|
August: Work is going steady but slow with all of the weeds.
We're munching our way out there! |
|
Just look at all of the junk we've cleared from the cutter head & pump.
Our pile of spoils we cleared after thing de-water.
September 28th: That's it, we're done for the season
We did get in the water for a bit. Only a few passes for this year. |
|
The water is down a bit from the spring, but it wasn't us pulling it down this year
All put away for the coming winter. I sure hope fuel prices go down (and we get a new permit)
Hard to see, but a flock of geese flying past the boom on Helga.
Have a good winter! |
