We finally got the range set up. We gathered some broken appliances, electronics, and some porcelain to shoot. We stepped off about 200 yards. We're shooting off-hand with open sights with World War II surplus guns. This is going to be a challenge!

We found a scrap of 1/4" steel plate and set that up as a target. A shelf from the refrigerator caps it off nicely.
Matt and Ryan take a crack at the targets, while Mike check the spotting scope for hits.
Nice blasting boys. Notice how the full metal jacket surplus ammo we have is pounding right through the 1/4" steel plate! |

Ouch, Exit wounds! what a mess!
The boys gather an old cracked toilet left over from Lake Sapphire to poke some holes in.
The next day we tried our hand at shooting some clay pigeons. We're using my Remington 1100 autoloader. It's heavy, but shoots nice.
Here Ryan, Mike, and Matt get to hear the range rules. |
