August of 1998, This is the area at Bloom Lake that we just (tried) to level off with our dozer. We chose a rolling meadow, so we didn't need to remove any trees. |
We had the holes for the post drilled by a local farmer, and cement dropped by LC Redi-Mix. After the cement hardened, we started setting the posts in the holes | ![]() |

Wow, that was a long day, we finished setting the back wall posts. |
The next day we finished setting the rest of the posts and started with the wall purlins. | ![]() |

After the purlins, we started the roof trusses, what a job. |
Finally, the skeleton is finished, now it's time to work on the steel skin. | ![]() |

Roof skin goes on first, then the walls. |
Almost done, installing the door track and some trim. | ![]() |

Finished barn.
It took about 5 days to finish the frame, another 3 or 4 days to hang the wall and roof steel, and a few more days to finish the trim. Fun project, everyone should build a barn! |
