Wednesday: Carol's Birthday today... Yup We're still workin' Removed the cabinet boxes, drywalled and taped the soffit frames. Also ran the wiring for the under cabinet lighting. (the Boss forgot to put it on the 'list')
Thursday: Sanded and primed the soffits, First coat of ceiling paint!

Friday: Second coat of ceiling white, Next we need to cleanup and get ready for the wall paint, yippee getting close!!!! (I missed my projection of 'paint by Tuesday')

Friday afternoon: A coat of wall paint finishes the paint work!
We installed all of the lighting after the ceiling paint dried
It looks like it's gonna be another late night as we hang the first of the finish cabinets
Now we're getting somewhere....but it is 11:30 Tomorrow is another day!
Saturday: We assembled all of the wall cabinets, so now we can assemble one of the 2 pantry units
Both of the pantry units assembled and mounted, we had to do some fancy footwork to get the cabinet to fit that giant refrigerator we have.
All in place with the doors on! It's starting to look like a kitchen again!!
One last row of upper cabinets to go!
Finally, done for the night Time to celebrate!!!

Tomorrow we have to fix all of the floor squeaks, then start on the base cabinets!

Sunday: Fixed all of the squeaks under the base cabinets, then we set up shop, we assembled all of the remaining cabinets! They went quick, in no time we where installing them
As I set the cabinets in place, Carol assembled the doors and drawers. What a long day
Done for the night, we got most of them installed, but we where unhappy with the alignment around the sink and corner, so after about 2 hours of shims and screws, we found that the back of the corner cabinet was drooping, pulling the sides off!
Monday: Started to setup more cabinets, but had to go out to dinner, It is our 1st anniversary (too much to drink, can't work) Tuesday: Finished leveling the last set of cabinets! Wow, can't believe we are done with that phase!

Somehow I think I promised to get glass insert for the center cabinets?

An overview of the kitchen so far, countertops next!
The backing for the counter tops. cut and ready for action (too bad I'm not)
Carol and Mike checking out the laminate for the countertops (kinda greenish) Can't wait she said! (home cooked meal is what I'm thinking)
Wednesday: We got all of the decking cut, then started assembly of the countertops
Working from the bottom, we glued and screwed framing to build up the thickness and to add strength, adding a wide cleat at all joints
We then ripped some oak to go all around the edge, this was glued and taped, we finished all of the edging tonight, tomorrow it's time for the laminate!!
